2007 We welcome Kasper Foss - our new drummer - he sings, writes and record his
own music as well.
Kasper has been drummin' for quite a lot of famous and popular bands - here's a
few of them: Anne Linnet, hotel hunger, Danser med drenge, Søs Fenger, Ivan
Pedersen and Mike Tramp which also featured the world famous guitarist Steve
Lukather (Toto) on guitar! get that!
"it has allways been my dream to play Beatles with RubberBand and suddenly i was
there..." so to speak.
We say goodbye to Paul Callaby who gave us professionalism, and in fact was the
driving force in many of the things that Rubberband became popular for.
perfection in live performance and Beatles related clues that helped us through
many crises and difficulties. All the best wishes for the future "Pauli"
2006 Our bass player Chris Paulsen, after more than 13 years with the band
decided to take a break from touring. Robert Mulder, our former bass player,
quickly took up the challenge again.
RubberBand appeared for the 19th time at 5øren!
Thanks to you all for turning up and supporting 5 øren.
Who are RubberBand?
RubberBand are without doubt Scandinavia's No1 Beatles Tribute Band.
They started in 1979, when it was still considered blasphemous to copy The
Beatles, and their music. Despite this opinion, that was held by most of the
general public, RubberBand continued to rehearse with dedication, until their
first public performance as “Billerne”. (They later changed their name to
RubberBand, inspired by The Beatles LP “Rubber Soul”).
The reception was amazing - the so called critics suddenly became enthusiastic
RubberBand fans!
This was this first step of their career as a professional band. It wasn’t long
before they were working solidly throughout Denmark, steadily building their
reputation as THE Band to have, no matter what kind of event was being held, -
T.V. shows, Festivals, (with over 30,000 people) private birthday parties, (with
as few as 10 people), company parties etc....In fact celebrations in all
imaginable shapes and forms, no matter what, - RubberBand were there!
Press
(Michael Dahm - Rødovre Lokal Nyt).
The Beatles, and not forgetting their Danish equivalent, Rubberband are alive
and kicking ! This was strongly underlined last Friday in Rødovre.
They know their Beatles katalogue to their fingertips - no doubt about that !They
charm their way right off the edge of the stage, with an enthusiasm that creates
a real special atmosphere. This was the fifth year in a row that RubberBand
started a new year I Viften, a tradition that has come to stay.
NYBORG SLOTSROCK
Fyens Amts Avis (by Henrik Mohr)
It wasn't because "Big Fat Snake" or "Gnags" didn't deliver the goods - but
RubberBand were the only act that really understood how to get the whole
audience to rock and roll. Without doubt the high point of the festival was
everyone hopping in time to "Yellow Submarine"...
SKANDERBORG FESTIVAL
Horsens Folkeblad (by Ejvind Koch Pedersen)
The crowd wasn't really happening until the time machine was set to the year
1963 - RubberBand came on stage and put the "mental pick-up" in the groove of
Beatles songs. We were about 10,000 people that sang along to hits like "All My
Lovin' as if it was yesterday it was number one in the charts! By public demand
the promotors had to find time, in the very tight program, for Rubberband, as
the only band, to play an encore..
SILKEBORG ILDREGATTA
Midtjyllands Avis (by Michael...)
The Copenhagen band RubberBand had an exceptionally large audience when they
went on stage around eight thirty.
They played many of the well known Beatles hits from the early days like "Twist
and Shout" through "Drive My Car" and "Hey Jude" to the more recent "Sgt.
Pepper" and "Back in the USSR". When a slightiy grey-haired gentleman saw the
note-block in my hand he shouted "You have to write that this is great!" It was
without doubt an experience to see that both the young and the "bit" older were
impressed by The Beatles music...
