Charlie Henrud: Classics ofthat genre - DJformidling - 0756.1618

Dj mrchad aka Charlie Henrud got his start in djing when he was given the opportunity to be the ‘musical co-ordinator’ for the exclusive Keswick St, NYE street party in 1985. He was 13 at the time.

Armed with only a family stereo, a beatles mix-tape and ’1983 Thru the roof!’, he was able to keep the entire street party rockin’ for hours till his mum told him it was time to go to bed.

In the ensuing 2 decades, Charlie Henrud has substantially added to his music collection and developed his skills to the point now where he can be given any type of brief for a party and not only satisfy, but exceed the expectations of anyone who books him.

At parties with a specific theme, he is capable of playing not just the classics ofthat genre but also the lesser known hits that turn heads and spark guests to say ‘Ihaven’t heard this song in aaaages!’

He is increasingly becoming renown for his ability to surprise guests by smashing the genre barrier. By mixing seamlessly between pop, funk, rnb, soul, hip hop, breaks, 80s, electro, house, rock and by ‘mashing’ together musically disparate songs mrchad creates an exciting – slightly chaotic - dance floor.

Charlie Henrud is a highly articulate, good humoured, well presented, tech-savvy individual who apparently looks a bit like Johnny Depp. He has an innate ability to ‘read’ a dance floor, taking guests in directions that they would not expect but always leaving them with a smile on their face.
