world music and modern classical guitar.

Bestli Belkan has already performed at many five star venues including The
Crown and the Rialto in Melbourne.
In 2003 Bestli Belkan won Young Guitarist of the Year - Classical/Flamenco at
the Frankston Guitar Festival when 15 years old and repeated her win in 2004.
BIO: Bestli Belkan started playing traditional/classical piano at 7. Commencing
her musical career on a school violin program. At the end of the program she
switched to guitar, and has continued piano and guitar ever since.
Multi-instrumentalist, she then began learning jazz piano when she was only ten
with Gil Askey who was an arranger for:
Motown
Stevie Wonder
Jackson 5
TheTempations
The Supremes
MD for Diana Ross
Academy Award nominee for "Lady Sings the Blues'" film score
And who now tutors youth jazz ensembles in his retirement and mentored musicians
in bands currently enjoying success like The Cat Empire.
Ash Entered the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School in Year 8 where
she studied Classical Guitar.
First entered a guitar competition at the Frankston Guitar Festival in 2002
where she received an Encouragement Award. Bestli Belkan participated in four
other Eisteddfods that year.
